Steve Gibson, owner of Gibson Homes, is a visionary contractor whose contracting footprint completes over 700 homes a year in various capacities. ‘Gibson Homes’, his custom home-building arm, builds and rehabs many homes in the greater Portland area.
High-impact website
We designed the website to connect emotionally with Gibson Homes’ core audience by building easy-to-digest and interactive tools that will engage the customer and involve them in the process.
Three steps to home ownership
We had an opportunity to create a conversion funnel on the website, leveraging the natural process of getting a custom home built. We created the ‘three steps to home ownership’ to demonstrate the ease of going through the custom home process. We identified three important milestones and built interactivity around those: Identifying your site/lot, choosing your home plan, and securing financing.
We designed custom icons for each of those three areas. Each area was shown through an accordion-style user engagement tool on the site. The accordion feature loads lighting fast with information and interactivity for each of the three sections.
Custom application: Home Finder
Built on WordPress, we built a custom home finder tool that is very easy to use for both end-users and website admin. On the back-end, Gibson Homes staff can easily add their properties to the listing tool. No programming skill is required. On the front-end, users can use the interactive map to search for available homes (and the type of properties available), view property detail pages, and easily connect with Gibson Homes sales staff.
